Agreement concerning programs for music printing developed 
by Leland Smith.  

The principal program groups are called: 
	MS -- for the initial preparation of music pages.
	MP -- transforming MS material to vector format.
	PAGE -- automatic page layout and part extraction.


There will be free use  of these programs by  all IRCAM personnel for  all
IRCAM events, concerts,  and publications.  Also  materials prepared  with
these programs  may be  freely used  as examples  in magazines,  journals,
newspapers, and exhibitions.
 
IRCAM will not allow these programs to be copied in any way or transferred
to computers under any other  administration without the written  approval
of the author of the programs, Leland Smith.
 
If any  materials  prepared with  these  programs  are to  appear  in  the
publications of  commercial  music  publishers (such  as  Durand,  Heugel,
Eschig, etc.) a separate royalty contract must be made with the author  in
every case.  This  same  applies to music pages made available for rental.
 
If any materials prepared with these programs are used for performance  in
commercial cinema, theatre, TV,  radio, etc., a  royalty contract must  be
made.  If this  material  is later published a  separate agreement must be
made.
 
If any materials prepared with these programs are to be used in any  books
issued by private publishers  a royalty to be  established must go to  the
author.  This same applies to use of these programs in any unusual  manner
not described herein.
